Andy reviews World of Goo

Getting World of Goo off Steam for $8... best decision this week. The game is utterly fantastic. I'll explain why I enjoy it now.
This game is a physics based puzzle game. At the same time it has an interesting story, and cute characters, and a zany world. Sound familiar? You bet! It reminds me of Portal, for some reason. It's not just the way it's... well, a physics based puzzle game. The fact that it could be the pinnacle of Indie game design. Portal being a replica of Narbacular Drop, World of Goo is a replica of... some physics game beta thing done years ago. Only better.
So, what can I say? It's a physics based puzzle game. You pick up globs of Goo with your mouse and build... stuff. For example, one level you have to build a bridge out of the Goo. So you start building the bridge, but if you don't brace the bridge, it'll fall into the spikes below. So you retry the level and brace the bridge. But if you brace it too much, it'll become too heavy and fall in on itself. Killing all the Goo. :(
Okay, now I'm a lazy reviewer. I have other things to do than type (e.g., play more World of Goo), so I'm gonna give you a permalink to The Daily Gamer World of Goo episode, that replicates my thoughts almost exactly. http://deadworkers.com/network/?p=811
Alrighty. So, to wrap it up - buy the game, or get the demo or something. It's fun! FUN!

P.S.: As off time of posting, Andy is tired off his ass from playing too much World of Goo. Also, Watchmen demo failed to start. Gonna get a fix for that.
