I bought Crysis Warhead yesterday. For those not "in the know," Crysis Warhead is the sequel to the 2007 PC game Crysis which many people loved, but even more people hated because it strained the hardware to breaking point. I was skeptical that Warhead would totally destroy my pissweak computer, but magic is, it didn't, so now I can play it fine and complain about the unimaginative story and then fantastic and/or terrible gameplay mechanics.
You play as Sgt. "Psycho" Sykes, a military soldier dude who has a massive gun and a very tight Nanotech suit. The massive gun is pretty useless in actual combat (I tend to spam grenades over rocks to the same effect), but the Nanotech suit is pretty awesome. Probably because it makes me feel like an ultra-cool-muscley-badass when in real life I'm a fat, slightly nerdy, unrecognized genius.
Anyway, I was drawn in by the promise that I could go invisible and wedgie oncoming enemy patrols from behind. I stayed because the multiplayer is fantastic, because you replace computer-controlled patrols with my younger brother. Awesome.
Another interesting thing that happaned today; I went in for my Grade 8 piano exam (Grade 8 is the second last grade you can sit an examination for, the last being Certificate of Performance). I did well. All in all, a succesful weekend, though none of my friends came over and now I have a headache.
