Behind the Scenes: Comix, Inc.: The Movie

The Making of... Comix, Inc.: The Movie Comix, Inc.: The Movie is a fictional partialy-animated film. In the following article, you will learn how such a movie is being produced, the set backs, the creative process, and the long sleepless nights. Let us begin.
SCRIPT
The script began production on September 22nd and had a 2-week turnaround. The First Draft was completed 3rd October, though extensive re-writes saw that soon that it was halved, to cater to the animation side being produced quicker.
The plot and first draft was written entirely by Andrew Deavin. However, it was quickly stolen and edited by Ben Deavin. It turned the script from a serious, set-piece driven epic to a humorous, comedic laff (the sticker on the front of the script reads, "NOW WITH 100% MORE JAMAICANS." The writing process is scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2009 for the second half of the story.
One major change is that Tara Banks (Janani Kannan's character) was originally a darker, much more serious role. One red pen journey through by Ben Deavin saw that she is now an hilarious female lead, as apposed to a harrowing one.
ANIMATION
Animation is currently taking major priority (despite the fact that the voice work is no where near completed (about 56 lines have been recorded out of 233). I won't write too much. Instead, here are some pictures.
Animatic
So far, the whole movie will be released in this, half-animated form.

But just because it's half-finished doesn't it is bad quality. I plan to complete the whole thing once I've completed the whole story arc. So far, with traditional animation techniques, it takes 1 day to animate 30 seconds. In this form, in a whole day, you could animate 6 minutes.

SOUND DESIGN

Every single actor so far has given 100%. Some actors have fallen ill - others have been recast. Ben Deavin has proven to be the Master of Voices, providing the vocal chords for 3 side characters so far.

...to be continued...
