A Week With the Tablet. No, not THAT kind of tablet.

Tom Adams ("The Assistant", Blood Beak) has lent me his shiny graphics tablet, one of the seemingly endless line of infinitely cool crap he possesses in his house. I have it for a week. So I've challenged myself to see how much cool shit I can draw with it in a week. Come next Saturday, the day after I return it to Tom, I'll post all the pictures I've drawn with it in a post on this very blog. I've already started! Check this out!

Okay, it's not that great, but for a first go using a tablet on a big colour full-frame drawing? I give myself A+ for effort.

I said I would follow this feverishly and I stick by my word. Valve released the following statement to Shacknews.

We were surprised to hear of this news yesterday. Obviously, everyone at Valve is pretty bummed.

This is a petty quote from Valve, and not being followed up by plans to actually do anything about it, it seems I'll either have to try and subvert the system to get the game... or... we can try and change the rating system.

R18+ games aren't allowed in Australia by law. So if a game is deemed R18+, it is immediately refused classification. Whenever people have tried to get the R18+ rating used for games, it has always failed miserably... so, the system sucks ass. I'd personally like to see the TV rating, AV15+ (adult voilence) conventionalized as a means for rating games. I might email the ratings board about it tonight. Or, I can, y'know... do homework... pfft. 'Sif.
